Titusville Sign Company Weighs in on SR-405 Widening Project
We’re excited to share that Paradise Signs and Graphics was recently featured in a Spectrum News 13 story about the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) proposal to widen State Road 405 in Titusville.
The Story Behind the News
When Spectrum News reporter Jerry Hume was covering FDOT’s community input initiative for the SR-405 widening project, he reached out to local businesses along the corridor to get their perspective. As a business located directly off SR-405, Paradise Signs and Graphics was perfectly positioned to provide insight into how the current traffic conditions affect local commerce.
Our Owner’s Perspective
Tanya Hudson, owner of Paradise Signs and Graphics, shared her thoughts on the proposed project with Spectrum News:
“Turning left here across traffic and coming out can be a little precarious depending on time of day. Four lanes would help that tremendously. Plus, I think it’s a great precursor for the growth that we’re expecting.”
Why This Project Matters to Titusville
The proposed widening would expand SR-405 from two to four lanes between State Road 50 and U.S.-1 in Titusville. As Tanya explained to the reporter:
“This is a major thoroughfare from south Titusville to north Titusville. It’s kind of the alternative to Route 1.”
The current two-lane configuration often creates backups, particularly when drivers need to make left turns across traffic. This not only affects commute times but also impacts local businesses and their customers trying to access services along the corridor.
Supporting Our Community’s Growth
At Paradise Signs and Graphics, we’ve witnessed firsthand the growth and development happening throughout the Space Coast region. The SR-405 widening project represents more than just traffic relief – it’s an investment in our community’s future infrastructure that will support continued economic development.
As Tanya noted in the interview, “It certainly would help me get to north Titusville a lot quicker for meetings and other things.” This improved connectivity benefits not just our business operations but all the customers and partners we serve throughout Brevard County.
Community Involvement Matters
We’re proud to be part of a community where local business voices are heard and valued in important infrastructure decisions. FDOT’s commitment to gathering public input through community meetings and online feedback demonstrates the collaborative approach needed for successful community development.
